Lizzie's Books

These are some of the books I've written. The following four books are a part of a series I wrote about dragons and their riders. I even made "covers" for them. Read on for summaries of the books.

Dawn has lived under the shadow of the evil Coalition her whole life. She always thought there was nothing she could do to improve her situation. But now, things are about to change...

When Dawn is abducted by the Coalition's soldiers and sentenced to die during the Dragon Hunt, all hope seems lost. But she refuses to give up, despite the dire circumstances. Miraculously, Dawn escapes death and flees from the Coalition and the dragons under its command.

But the leaders of the Coalition are not finished with Dawn. They know she has bonded with a dragon, and no ordinary dragon at that--a Queen dragon. The new dragon and rider threaten their power, and the Coalition will stop at nothing to destroy them...

When Soren goes to the dragon keep to help with the ceremonial egg hatching, the last thing he expects is to become a dragon rider himself. But when a red-brown dragon hatches for him, a dragon rider is exactly what he becomes.

But Soren's jubilation is quickly turned to fear and uncertainty. The young man and his dragon, Etan, are forced to flee for their lives when an evil and incredibly smart man decides to use their strange powers for himself. As their enemy does everything in his power to catch them, Soren and Etan are thrust into a situation they are entirely unprepared for.

The stakes are high. If Soren and Etan are caught and used for deadly purposes, the entire order of the dragons will fall into the hands of an incredible evil.

Things at the Dragon Keep couldn't be more perfect for Soren...until all the Queen dragons and riders are struck with a horrible disease. Now, a group of criminals has kidnapped a young Queen dragon and are using her to force the other dragons to do their nefarious bidding.

Soren and Etan need help, but where can they get it? The only cure to the disease has long since been extinct. The only way Soren can save his Queens is by doing something he had hoped to never do again...using the time machine.

Soren and Etan travel to the past in a desperate attempt to find the cure. While they are there, they realize that they can't fight the criminals on their own...and that when there seems to be no future, a little help from the past is all you need.

Kieran, a lowly tavern boy, has always thought he would be stuck working at the tavern under the harsh hand of his master for the rest of his life. He longs for escape, but he has nowhere to go. However, his escape does come, and it comes from the unlikeliest of places...

Now this tavern boy and his Dark Dragon must face both the king and a pretender to the throne, who is far more powerful and dangerous than Kieran can imagine. Kieran is thrust into the conflict, becoming a vital part of a situation he never wanted to be involved in.

In a world where Dark Dragons are feared, despised, and used for ill-gotten power, can a boy and his dragon prove to everyone that things can change?

Since I love writing about dragons so much, I'm in the process of writing a short story collection for the series. I have four short stories going on right now and would like a fifth one--but that may not happen.

Okay, the next book I've completed is a science fiction story. It's the longest novel I've ever written (by myself, that is). I did not make a cover for this one, but read on for a short summary.

Children of Men

It has been four years since aliens called the Ishari invaded Earth. But despite all appearances, they did not conquer it entirely, for a group of humans survived and set up a resistance known as the Undergrounds. They attacked the alien Mothership shortly after it arrived, but they failed. For four years they have lived on, barely surviving, waiting for means and opportunity that may never come...

Two teenagers are sent on a mission to request help from fellow Underground members, but their mission quickly turns into the beginning of the next coordinated attack against the Ishari. Enemies and friends alike clash as the Undergrounds prepare to attack and the Ishari close in. It soon becomes clear to all that everything and everyone, especially the Ishari, are not what they may seem.

I've finished quite a few other stories, but they're all in notebooks and not very long. I'm working on many, many others too and am close to finishing a couple of them. Visit this page sometime in the future if you'd like to see the rest of the stories (or their summaries, at least) when I finish them.
